Responsibilities
Cardinal Technology Systems Corp. is a government IT solutions provider servicing commercial and government initiative in various parts of the United States. We are currently seeking a Network Engineer to work for our company.
Summary
  • Must possess IT-II security clearance or have a current National Agency Check with Local Agency Check and Credit Check (NACLC). (Basic Federal Clearance requirements are U.S. Citizenship, clear criminal history check, no recent or pending bankruptcies)
  • Leverage advanced analytical and technical skills to design and implement infrastructure solutions that enhance mission execution and support command decision-making.
  • Support the integration of new technologies and equipment within lab environments, including development and refinement of standard operating procedures (SOPs) and policies.
  • Assess network topology and device configurations, identify critical security vulnerabilities, and recommend security best practices.
  • Provide user support for Virtual Private Networks (VPNs), Virtual Desktop Infrastructure (VDI) such as Citrix, as well as MacOS and iOS platforms.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve a broad range of technical issues, from basic to complex network problems
  • Implement granular access controls, monitor system performance and accessibility, establish and maintain backup protocols, and ensure system security.
  • Diagnose and resolve complex enterprise storage issues across local and wide area networks, including replication strategy support and remediation of storage-related incidents.
  • Design, build, and maintain robust network environments by configuring routers, switches, and firewalls, as well as updating network devices and performing IP address audits.
  • Ensure optimal network performance by troubleshooting issues, enforcing system standards, and collaborating with stakeholders to optimize infrastructure.
  • Secure network systems through policy enforcement, access controls, and continuous monitoring.

Requirements
  • Must possess IT-II security clearance or have a current National Agency Check with Local Agency Check and Credit Check (NACLC). (Basic Federal Clearance requirements are U.S. Citizenship, clear criminal history check, no recent or pending bankruptcies)
  • U.S. Citizenship.
  • Required Education: BS Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Computer Information Systems, Computer Systems Engineering or related degree; or HS Diploma and 7+ years network administration, network engineering or systems administration experience.
  • Must have an active DoD Secret clearance, TS/SCI clearance is preferred.
  • Must be able to obtain DHS Suitability.
  • 5+ years of directly relevant experience in network administration.
  • Proficiency with multiple operating systems, including Linux/Unix and MacOS.
  • Strong knowledge and experience with routers, switches, firewalls, and VPNs.
  • Experience and knowledge of networking and network administration.
  • Skilled in working with virtual desktop environments (Citrix, VMware).
  • Must be able to work collaboratively across physical locations.
Preferences
  • Desired Certifications: DoD 8140.01 IAT Level II: Network+, CCNA.
  • Familiarity with Palo Alto firewalls and Cisco switches.
  • Experience with converged infrastructure solutions (e.g., FlexPod) and NetApp storage systems.
  • Proficiency with Cisco Intersight, vCenter, and virtualization automation/optimization.
  • Strong documentation skills for technical procedures and SOPs.
  • Capable of creating and maintaining network diagrams.
  • Demonstrated experience in network design, implementation, and performance tuning.
  • Project management capabilities and excellent time-management skills.
  • Expertise in hardening network devices and infrastructure for enhanced security.
